Atlas — Analytics Dashboard
A dense operations dashboard rebuilt for the people who live in it eight hours a day.
The problem
Atlas's ops team monitored fleet performance across six separate tools, switching tabs dozens of times an hour. Nothing was wrong with any single tool — the problem was that no one owned the moment between them.
The approach
I shadowed the ops team for two full shifts before designing anything, mapped every decision they made against the data that triggered it, then built a single dashboard around those decisions rather than around the underlying database tables. Dense tabular data sits next to lightweight charts built for a five-second glance, not a deep read.
The outcome
The team now works from one screen for most of a shift. Time spent reconciling numbers across tools dropped sharply, and the design system built for Atlas has since been extended to two more internal products.
